The first and second questions from Fatwa number ( 18671 )
Q1: I performed Hajj this year, 1416 AH, and after I had entered the state of ihram from the miqat, and I was performing it alone, I said: “Labbaik Allahumma labbaik, hajjan.” After that, I forgot and said: “Labbaik Allahumma labbaik, hajjan wa ‘umran .” I asked some of the shaykhs in Makkah al-Mukarramah , and they told me: there is no blame on you. And I, praise be to Allah, have completed my Hajj. Please inform me, may Allah reward you with good, about what is obligatory for me.
A1 : If what happened to you was a slip of the tongue that you did not intend, then there is nothing upon you for it; because of the saying of Allah the Exalted:[Al-Baqarah 2:286]
And the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):Sahih al-Bukhari 1 .
Q2: I have a deceased mother and I want to perform Hajj on her behalf, knowing that I have already performed Hajj for her, and that I do not know how to read or write. Please inform me, may Allah reward you with good.
A2 : There is no harm in performing Hajj on behalf of your deceased mother more than once; because this is an act of dutifulness to her, as long as you have performed the Hajj of Islam for yourself. And the fact that you do not know how to read or write does not prevent the validity of the Hajj if you perform its rites in the prescribed manner. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
