The questioner : It is said that I heard that in the Fajr prayer on Friday, it is recommended to recite Surat al-Sajdah in the first rak'ah and Surat al-Insan in the second rak'ah. Is this general for both men and women? Sometimes when I recite Surat al-Sajdah, I forget some of the verses and stop in the middle or a third of it. Is it permissible for me to keep the mushaf close to me and open it to read what I forgot, or to bow where I stopped, wherever I forgot?

The Shaykh : We say in answer to this question: It should be known that what the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did in his prayer, whether in actions or words, is prescribed for men and women, for the one praying alone and for the imam as well, until there is evidence specifying otherwise. This is based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
offer your prayers in the way you saw me offering my prayers صلوا كما رأيتموني أصلي
Sahih al-Bukhari 6008
This hadith is general and comprehensive. Therefore, whatever the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, recited, or did in his prayer, the original ruling is that it is prescribed for everyone. As for reading from the mushaf when there is a fear of forgetting, there is nothing wrong with it. It is permissible for a person to read from the mushaf when he fears forgetting a verse or making a mistake in it, and there is no blame on him. Yes.
