Their father does not provide for them, and they are in need of zakah

Fatwa number ( 16140 )
Q: There is a person who is related to me by kinship, though he is not of my tribe. He has eleven dependents, all of whom he supports, including four who are studying in Syria , some in medicine and some in engineering. His salary is four thousand Saudi riyals. Is it permissible for me to give them, who are in Syria , from my zakah, or is their father the only one who is obligated to provide for them?
A : If their father does not provide for them and they are in need of financial assistance due to their poverty, there is nothing wrong with giving them from the zakah, as they fall under those who are entitled to it. And Allah knows best. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
