Found a sheep, saved it from perishing, and did not announce its loss

The second question of Fatwa number ( 18708 )
Q2: A man found a sheep and took it with him in his car. This sheep was about to die of thirst, so his aunt took it, gave it water, and fed it. They did not announce its loss; because they are Bedouin, and we are all Bedouin, but this sheep grew up and half of the sheep flock now comes from this sheep. So what should you do, may Allah have mercy on you?
A2: It is obligatory in such a case to announce the sheep for a full year in the gatherings around the place where it was found. If its owner is identified, it is returned to him; otherwise, it belongs to the one who found it. Since a long time has passed and you have not announced it, you must give in charity the value of the sheep and its offspring, intending it on behalf of the owner. If the owner comes one day, he is given the value of his sheep, and the charity becomes on behalf of the finder of the lost item. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
