His father slaughtered a sheep that was in his grandfather's trust

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first and second questions of fatwa number ( 20948 )
Q1: My grandfather was entrusted with a flock of sheep, and my father was the one who grazed them. He was young, below the age of puberty, as far as I know. One day, he slaughtered one of them and did not benefit from it, neither by eating it nor otherwise; it was merely a form of mischief. Then he told my grandfather that the sheep had died and told the owner of the sheep that the sheep had died. The owner of the sheep accepted the matter,
but they did not inform him of the truth. Now, my grandfather and my father have passed away, may Allah have mercy on them both. What should I do? If he owes something, how does he pay it, from where, and how is it to be spent? I do not know the owner of the sheep. Please advise us, may Allah reward you.

A1: If you do not know the owner of the sheep, give its value in charity on his behalf, from your father's inheritance or your own money, and you will be rewarded for that, if Allah wills.
