Imitation of young men by women and the wearing of hair

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q1: It is observed among some young men these days that they let the hair on their heads grow long and then tie the back of the hair with a hair tie or a clip, just as women do . What is the ruling on this action? And what is your guidance for those who do it?
A1: A man may shave his head, and it is permissible for him to let his hair grow long. If he lets it grow long, he should maintain it by cleaning and combing it. It is not permissible for him to style his head in a way
that imitates the disbelievers in the hair on their heads, or women, due to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
He who copies any people is one of them.من تشبه بقوم فهو منهم
Sunan Abi Dawud 4031Hasan Sahih (Al-Albani)
. It was narrated by the Imam Ahmad , and Abu Dawud from Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both). Due to his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
God has cursed men who imitate womenلعن الله المتشبهين من الرجال بالنساء
Mishkat al-Masabih 4429
. This hadith was narrated by al-Bukhari in his Sahih, from Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both). Included in this is what was mentioned in the question regarding tying the back of the hair as women tie their heads.

Q2: Some young men pray in very tight clothes, some of which are transparent and reveal the color of the body beneath them. What is the ruling on their prayer in these clothes?
J2 : It is obligatory for the Muslim to cover his 'awrah (the part of the body that must be covered) in prayer, because that is one of the conditions for the validity of the prayer. Allah the Exalted said:
O children of Adam, take your adornment at every masjidيَابَنِي آدَمَ خُذُوا زِينَتَكُمْ عِنْدَ كُلِّ مَسْجِدٍ
[Al-A'raf 7:31]
, meaning: cover your 'awrah in every prayer, after His saying:
O children of Adam, We have bestowed upon you clothing to conceal your private partsيَابَنِي آدَمَ قَدْ أَنْزَلْنَا عَلَيْكُمْ لِبَاسًا يُوَارِي سَوْآتِكُمْ
[Al-A'raf 7:26]
. The limit of the man's 'awrah is from the navel to the knee, so he must cover it in prayer and outside of it with something that conceals it from view. As for wearing transparent clothing that reveals the color of the skin through it, or short clothing where part of the 'awrah is visible, the prayer is not valid in any of these cases due to the absence of a condition for the validity of the prayer, which is covering the 'awrah. And Allah knows best.
