The third question of Fatwa No. ( 18576 )
Q 3: In the case of combining Maghrib and 'Isha', or combining Zuhur and 'Asr, are the two rak'ahs after Maghrib or after Zuhur and their dhikr (remembrance of Allah) dropped? The question refers to the two rak'ahs that are part of the rawatib (regular voluntary prayers).
A 3: If one combines the Maghrib and 'Isha' prayers while not traveling, he prays the rawatib (regular voluntary prayers) of Maghrib and 'Isha' after the 'Isha' prayer. However, if he combines Zuhur and 'Asr, whether by advancing or delaying, he does not pray them afterwards, because the time of prohibition begins with the performance of the 'Asr prayer, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sunan Abi Dawud 1276Sahih (Al-Albani) As for the dhikr (remembrance of Allah), the dhikr of the second prayer is sufficient, while the dhikr of the first prayer is a sunnah (recommended practice) whose time has passed.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
