Treating Obsessive Thoughts in Prayer
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fourth question of Fatwa No. ( 16336 )
Q4: When I say the takbir to begin any of the five obligatory prayers, very bad thoughts come to me and prevent me from following the imam in his recitation. What must I do in this situation? May Allah reward you with good.
A4: Obsessive thoughts in prayer do not invalidate it, but a person should try to focus his heart in the prayer, cut off the obsessions, and seek refuge in Allah from Satan three times; because he is not credited with any of his prayer except what he understood of it. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
