What repels waswas (whispers) in prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Sometimes when I pray, something comes to mind, and I start thinking about it, and I sometimes become distracted. What is required of me? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
It is prescribed for you to take care of the prayer, and to devote your heart and your whole self to it. Strive to be present in heart, and beware of intrusive thoughts until you complete it. If intrusive thoughts become frequent, spit to your left three times, even if you are in prayer, and say: “I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Shaytan” three times. Uthman ibn Abi al-As al-Thaqafi (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “I complained to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about the many intrusive thoughts in prayer, so he ordered me to spit to my left three times and to seek refuge in prayer from Shaytan three times. He said: ‘I did so, and that was removed from me.’” Meaning... Allah removed those intrusive thoughts from him.
So, devote yourself to your prayer and strive to bring your heart to it. If waswas (whispers) overcome you, spit to your left three times, even if you are in prayer, and seek refuge in Allah from Shaytan three times. And be glad of good.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
