The Benefits of Charity for the Muslim

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q3: What are the benefits of charity for the Muslim in this world and the Hereafter?
A3: Charity is good for a person in this world and the Hereafter. Through it, the soul of the one who gives charity is purified from what may have attached to it, and his wealth grows both materially and spiritually. Allah the Mighty and Majestic said:
Take, [O, Muhammad], from their wealth a charity by which you purify them and cause them increaseخُذْ مِنْ أَمْوَالِهِمْ صَدَقَةً تُطَهِّرُهُمْ وَتُزَكِّيهِمْ بِهَا
[At-Tawbah 9:103]
, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Charity does not diminish wealthما نقصت صدقة من مال
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2029Sahih (Darussalam)
. It was narrated by the Imam
Muslim, the Imam Ahmad, al-Tirmidhi, and others. It extinguishes the anger of the Lord, just as water extinguishes fire, and it serves as protection for its owner from the punishment of Allah. Its benefits are more than that; they are realized by one who reflects on the texts from the Book and the Sunnah regarding charity, which are too numerous to cite here, and they are readily available for one who wishes to search for them.
