Catching a Rak'ah Behind the Imam
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 16825 )
Q2: I entered the mosque while the imam was in bowing (ruku'), and I said the takbir of intention. After the takbir, the imam rose before I could say the takbir for bowing. Do I complete the rak'ah, or do I repeat it after the taslim?
A2: If you did not bow before the imam rose from bowing, then you have not caught the rak'ah; because a rak'ah is not caught by catching only the takbir of intention, but rather by bowing before the imam rises from it. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
