Prayer in a place containing images

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 16147 )
Q 1: What is the ruling on praying in a house—room—that contains images or statues for decoration, depicting animals and humans?
A 1:It is forbidden to possess images and statues and place them in houses, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saidto 'Ali(may Allah be pleased with him):
Spare no portrait unwiped out, and leave not a high grave unlevelled.لا تدع صورة إلا طمستها ولا قبرًا مشرفًا إلا سويته
Riyad as-Salihin 1687
and as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
The angels do not enter a house in which there is a dog or an image.لا تدخل الملائكة بيتًا فيه كلب ولا صورة
Sunan Ibn Majah 3649Sahih (Darussalam)
It is disliked to pray in a room that has images hanging or standing in it, especially if they are in the direction of the prayer of the one praying, and the prayer is valid. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
