The Effect of Kohl on the Eye on the Ablution

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 18451 )
Q1: I want your ruling on applying liquid kohl to the eye; does it prevent water from reaching it? And if I apply it to my eye and then perform wudu' , I have heard some shaykhs say that it prevents water from reaching the eye, and consequently invalidates the wudu'. And Allah knows best?
A1: If the kohl has a substance that solidifies on the skin, then the wudu' is not valid unless it is removed; because it prevents water from reaching what is beneath it. And if it does not solidify, it has no effect on the wudu'. And Allah knows best. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
