The first question of Fatwa number ( 16326 )
Q1: Most of our imams are committed to the Tijaniyyah method, and many of the students say that it is not validto follow an imam who believes in what is in the Tijani booksIs this correct or not?
A1 : It is obligatory to follow the Book and the Sunnah, and to emulate the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), the scholars who emulate him, and those who act in accordance with the Book and the Sunnah. As for the people of religious innovation and the Sufi paths, it is forbidden to follow them or emulate them. If they perform acts of shirk (associating partners with Allah) or utter statements of shirk, such as supplicating to other than Allah or slaughtering for other than Allah, then the prayer behind them is not valid. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
