Q 8: Some of the imams of the mosques, when their turn comes to lead, pray in congregation, and the one whose turn it is shaves his beard , is it permissible for him to pray in congregation while having shaved his beard?
A 8 : It is not permissible for the imam to appoint as his deputy one who is openly committing a sin, such as shaving the beard or smoking; because the imam is a role model and a guarantor, so it is obligatory that his outward appearance be one of righteousness and uprightness. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
