Attending the funeral procession of a disbeliever and being present at his burial

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 19584 )
Q: I live in a rural area, and our village is partly Muslim and partly the Christians . When one of the Muslims dies, the Christians attend his funeral procession and burial, and then offer condolences to the deceased's family. The village headman said: Why don't we do what the Christians do? That is, when one of the Christians dies, we attend his funeral procession, walk in it, and offer condolences to the Christians . What is the ruling on this action? Please give us a ruling, may Allah reward you.
A: It is not permissible for a Muslim to attend the funeral procession of a disbeliever or be present at his burial, because Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) has forbidden us from forming alliances with disbelievers. As for offering condolences to a disbeliever for his deceased, there is nothing wrong with it, but one should not ask for forgiveness for their dead. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
