Voluntary Prayer on Friday

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 13876 )
Q: One day I went to the mosque on Friday and prayed what Allah had written for me. When I finished, I took the mushaf to read from it, and when I finished
reading, it occurred to me to pray, and there was only about a third of an hour left before the imam entered. So I stood up and dragged my garment, and a man who was sitting next to me sat down to talk to me about what he wanted. He said: I heard the Shaykh Ibn Baz — and Allah knows best — say: If there is about half an hour left before the imam enters, it is not permissible for anyone who entered the mosque early to pray. Is this correct? I have also heard that on Friday there is no time for kindling fire. And Allah knows best.

A: There is no truth to what was attributed to me. The correct ruling is that there is no blame on one who comes to the mosque to pray what Allah has decreed for him until the imam comes out for the sermon and the prayer, as the authentic hadiths confirm this. And there is no prohibited time on Friday before the sun reaches its zenith. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
