Is ordinary illness considered an excuse for missing the congregational prayer?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 19444 )
Q 1: Is ordinary illness considered an excuse for missing the congregational prayer?
A 1: The illness that excuses a sick person from missing the congregational prayer is the illness that makes it difficult for him to go to the mosque, causing hardship and difficulty for the patient. This is indicated by the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
If anyone hears the summons and does not respond to it, he is not credited with having prayed unless he has some excuse.من سمع النداء فلم يجبه فلا صلاة له إلا من عذر
Mishkat al-Masabih 1077
It was said to Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both): "And what is the excuse?" He said: "(Fear or illness)." It was narrated by Ibn Majah , al-Daraqutni , Ibn Hibban , and al-Hakim with a sound chain. And because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)
When he fell ill, he missed the congregation and said: "Have Abu Bakr lead the people in prayer."لما مرض تخلف عن الجماعة وقال: مروا أبا بكر فليصل بالناس
agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
