Negligence in Abandoning Congregational Prayer Without an Excuse

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fifth question of the fatwa numbered 7044
Q5: Is it obligatory for a man to maintain all five obligatory prayers in congregation in the mosque? And does he sin if he prays some of them at home without a valid legal excuse, given that he hears the call to prayer at all times and the mosque is not far from his house?
A5: The five obligatory prayers in congregation in the mosque are obligatory for adult men who are legally accountable. Therefore, whoever abandons praying them in congregation in the mosque without an excuse
is sinful; based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
Whoever hears the call for prayer and and does not come (to the mosque for prayer), his prayer will not be accepted from him, unless he has a (legitimate) excuse.من سمع النداء فلم يأت فلا صلاة له إلا من عذر
Bulugh al-Maram 2:308
It was narrated by Ibn Majah and al-Daraqutni with a sound chain of narration. And Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) was asked about the excuse, and he said: fear or illness. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
