The first question of fatwa number ( 20526 )
Q1: One of our colleagues led us in the midday prayer at work one day, and he was so rushed that we could not complete the recitation of Surat al-Fatihah in most of the units except while we were bowing . Is our prayer valid or not? And what is the ruling on one who rushes in his prayer for people and does not settle?
A1 : Your prayer is valid if he recited the Fatihah, but it is obligatory for the imam to settle in the prayer and enable those behind him by performing the pillars and obligatory acts, and it is not permissible for him to lighten the prayer to the point of invalidating his prayer and the prayer of those behind him. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
