Q4: What is the white discharge for a woman , and what are its rulings?
A4 : The scholars differed in interpreting the white discharge mentioned in the statement of the Mother of the Believers A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her): (Do not hasten until you see the white discharge), meaning by that: purity from menstruation. They differed in two opinions: The first: That the white discharge is a white fluid that comes out of women at the end of menstruation, serving as a sign of purity.
The second: That the woman inserts cotton or a cloth in her vagina, and it comes out white with nothing in it, no blood, no yellow, and no turbidity, and that becomes a sign of purity, which is (dryness). The conclusion: Women become pure by one of the two aforementioned matters; if she sees a white fluid at the end of menstruation, she is pure, or if her vagina dries out such that if she inserted cotton or the like, it would come out white, she is pure. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
