The Ruling on Vomiting

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 20902 )
Q: Is vomit ritually impure for both adults and children? Is it necessary to wash the garment or anything else if it falls on it? Does it invalidate the ablution? We ask for your guidance. .
A: Vomit is ritually impure, whether from a child or an adult, because it is food that has turned to corruption in the stomach, resembling excrement and blood. If it falls on a garment or anything else, it is obligatory to wash it with water, rubbing and squeezing it until the substance of the impurity is removed and its parts are gone and the place is purified. Vomit invalidates the ablution if it is a large, excessive amount that fills the mouth or more. As for a small amount less than that, it does not invalidate the ablution. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
