The fourth question of Fatwa No. ( 17558 )
Q4: What is the ruling on the saliva of a dog if it falls on a person's body, and if it falls on clothes? And what is the ruling on clothes that are washed with those clothes in the same washing machine and the same water?
A4 : The saliva of a dog is ritually impure, and it is obligatory to wash whatever it touches, whether a vessel or a garment; based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):Sahih Muslim 279d . And if clothes are thrown into pure water and washed until the effect of the impurity is removed from them, they all become pure from the impurity of the dog and others, on the condition that they are washed seven times from the impurity of the dog, the first of which with soil or something that serves as its substitute, such as soap or ash. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
