Touching of dogs to clothing
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 21487 )
Q: We are residents in the United Kingdom , where non-Muslims keep dogs - may Allah protect you - and in large numbers, so that sometimes it is difficult to avoid the dogs when we are going to and from home, especially when we are near the mosques, and it is difficult for us to return home to wash and change the clothes that the dogs touched?
A : If nothing from the dog's saliva, sweat, or blood has touched your body or your clothes, then your prayer is valid, and the mere touching of your clothes by dogs does not make them impure, and you are not required to wash or change them for that reason. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
