The one in a state of major ritual impurity who prays without performing the full ritual bath

The first question of Fatwa number ( 13840 )
Q1: I had an accident in the past during my reckless youth. I had an uncle who was dear to me, like a father; he raised me in my childhood with the best upbringing. He was pious and scrupulous, and I never heard a bad word from him. What happened is that he passed away (may Allah have mercy on him), and my father surprised me with the news of his death. He asked me to accompany him to pray over him and attend the funeral. At that time, I was not in a state of ritual purity—I was in a state of major ritual impurity—and I was too shy to tell my father because of my young age. I tried not to accompany him and said to him: "Go, and I will catch up with you." But he insisted that
I accompany him and said: "This is a duty on your part. He loved you and did a lot for you, and you must be with him at this moment. It is shameful for you to delay. You have to go with us." So I went with him and entered the mosque in that state. After the prayer, we brought him and we prayed the funeral prayer over him, and then we buried him. Since that incident, my conscience has been troubling me, and I have not seen him in a dream as happened to others (my mother and my aunt), even though he loved me very much and I loved him too. They say that he died calling out my name. Is there an expiation, O honorable Shaykh, for that mistake I committed in a state of recklessness and embarrassment before my father? Please inform us, may Allah reward you.

A: You made a mistake in going to pray over your uncle’s funeral while you were in a state of major ritual impurity, and you must seek forgiveness from Allah for what happened. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
