Fatwa number ( 15212 )
Q: We wish to inform Your Eminence that we are about to print calendars for the new Gregorian year. Since the pages of the calendar contain verses from the Qur'an and will be distributed to all countries of the world, we ask Your Eminence to kindly inform us if there is no objection to printing them on the calendar pages. We also request your opinion on this matter.
A : It is not permissible to write verses from the Noble Qur'an on the aforementioned calendar; because that exposes them to disrespect; since its pages are torn off and thrown on the ground or in the trash can. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
