Q: Is it permissible to post calendars and Ramadan fasting schedules issued by some banks in the mosques, or not?
A: It is not permissible to post calendars and Ramadan fasting schedules issued by some banks or commercial institutions in the mosques; because of the religious prohibitions involved, such as advertising forbidden transactions, making the houses of Allah the Exalted a place for promoting commercial products and advertising them, and other matters that contradict the sanctity of the mosques and run counter to the purpose for which they were built, namely prayer, the remembrance of Allah, reciting the Qur'an, teaching people what is good and encouraging them to it, warning them against evil and deterring them from it. All of this falls under the general meaning of the statement of Allah the Exalted:[Al-Ma'idah 5:2]
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

وَتَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الْبِرِّ وَالتَّقْوَى وَلاَ تَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الإِثْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ شَدِيدُ الْعِقَابِAnd success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
