Gathering the family for supplication after completing the recitation of the Qur'an
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa number ( 13400 )
Q 1: If I complete the recitation of the Qur'an, I gather my family and recite the well-known supplication while they say "Ameen." After finishing, each person makes a supplication for themselves. Is this a recommended practice that I should continue, or is it an innovation that I should abandon? Or should I complete the recitation for myself and recite the supplication, or should I abandon the supplication after the recitation and only recite the Qur'an? Please rule on this, may Allah reward you with good.
A 1 : The Noble Qur'an is the best of remembrance, and it is the speech of Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He). He has commanded its recitation, reflection upon it, and acting in accordance with it. It is more likely that a person's supplication will be answered if it follows the remembrance of Allah. Many of the Salaf (the earliest generations) used to do this, including Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him). If a person gathers his family and makes supplication, there is no blame on him, and it is hoped that their supplications will be answered. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
