The Virtue of the Two Verses from Surat al-Imran

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q 5: The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite the two verses from Surat al-Imran (189 and 200) every night, and al-Darimi reported from 'Uthman ibn 'Affan who said: "Whoever recites the end of Surat al-Imran in a night, it is recorded for him as standing in prayer for the night."
Vol. 5: We do not know of any basis for the claim that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite verses (189, 200) specifically from Surat al-Imran every night. And what was narrated from Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) was reported by al-Darimi in his (Sunan) as a mawquf (stopping at a Companion), where al-Darimi said: Ishaq ibn Isa narrated to us, from Ibn Lahi'ah , from Yazid ibn Abi Habib , from Abi al-Khayr , from Uthman with this. And Ibn Lahi'ah is not a proof, so the chain of narration is weak.
