The questioner : May Allah reward you. This is a message from the listener Ibrahim Muhammad Ayyish, a Sudanese resident in Kuwait. He says: "In my youth, I was greatly negligent in religion to the extent that I did not pray, did not fast, and stole from people's money. I also swore many oaths and broke them; I cannot count their number now. I also divorced my wife many times and do not know the exact number, and our cohabitation is still ongoing, and we have had two daughters. What is the ruling on my leaving the obligatory duties and obligations of the past? What is the ruling on the oaths I swore and broke? And what is the ruling on the divorce that occurred from me, of which I do not know the number now?"
The Shaykh : As for the acts of worship you left during that time, if you repent with sincere repentance to Allah the Mighty and Majestic, Allah will forgive you what has passed, as He the Exalted said:[Az-Zumar 39:53] As for the oaths, you must expiate one oath, and this suffices for all the oaths according to the well-known view in the school of Imam Ahmad. This is because, however many oaths there are, the obligation in them is one thing: feeding ten poor people, or clothing them, or freeing a slave. Whoever cannot find the means to do so must fast three consecutive days. Some scholars, indeed most scholars, hold that if the oaths are on different matters, then he must expiate each oath individually. According to this opinion, which is safer for the conscience, you must investigate the oaths you swore, which are distinct, and pay the expiation for each one. As for the divorce that occurred from you, if the divorce you pronounced is more than two, then your wife is not lawful for you now, because if a man divorces his wife three times, she is not lawful for him until she marries another husband, as He the Exalted said: [Al-Baqarah 2:229] until He the Exalted and Majestic said: [Al-Baqarah 2:230] So if you are certain that you have divorced her three times or more, you must separate from her, and she is not lawful for you at that time. You must fear Allah in this matter and know that if you leave something for the sake of Allah, Allah will compensate you with something better than it. And success is from Allah.

Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful."
قل يا عبادي الذين أسرفوا على أنفسهم لا تقنطوا من رحمة الله إن الله يغفر الذنوب جميعاً إنه هو الغفور الرحيمDivorce is twice. Then, either keep [her] in an acceptable manner or release [her] with good treatment.
الطلاق مرتان فإمساك بمعروف أو تسريح بإحسانAnd if he has divorced her [for the third time], then she is not lawful to him afterward until [after] she marries a husband other than him
