My mother was ill and passed away, and at that time there was no place for washing the deceased

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first and second questions of Fatwa No. ( 19541 )
Q 1: My mother was ill and passed away, and at that time there was no place for washing the deceased, so the washing was done at home. I did not know how to perform the washing, and afterwards we put some henna on her hands and some kohl in her eyes , which was a custom of ours. I ask your Eminence to answer whether this method of washing is valid or not?
A 1: You did well in washing the deceased woman, but putting henna on her hands and kohl in her eyes has no basis, so it is not permissible to do so. However, what you did out of ignorance is forgiven by Allah.
