His leg was amputated below the knee; how does he perform wudu'?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 15455 )
Q1: I had my left leg amputated below the knee, and a prosthetic limb was fitted for me. Since I wipe over my boot during wudu', and it is worn over the prosthetic and will not cover the ankles, is it permissible for me to wipe over it while it
does not cover the ankles, or should I wipe over the leg and remove the boot, or is it not permissible for me to wipe over the prosthetic limb ? Also, when I take a bath, I remove the prosthetic and perform wudu', but after I finish, I forget to wipe over the prosthetic. Is there any sin on me for this? I ask for clarification, and may Allah protect you.

A1: You are not required to wash or wipe the prosthetic limb during wudu'; because the place of the obligation in wudu' has ceased to exist. As for major ritual impurity, you are only required to wash what remains of the leg. May Allah heal your affliction and magnify your reward. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
