Forgetting Some of the Limbs of Ablution

The third question of Fatwa No. ( 20196 )
Q 3: If I forget to wash a small part, for example, in
the areas of ablution, and I remember it immediately after completing the ablution. Do I have to repeat the ablution, or is it sufficient to just wash that part?
A 3: Continuity is a condition for the validity of ablution. If a person forgets to wash a limb of the ablution or a part of it, even if it is small: if he remembers it during the ablution or immediately after it, and the traces of water are still on his limbs and have not dried from the water, then he only washes the part of his limbs that he forgot and whatever comes after it. However, if he remembers that he forgot to wash a limb of the ablution or a part of it after his limbs have dried from the water, or during the prayer, or after performing the prayer, then he must restart the ablution from the beginning, as Allah has prescribed, and repeat the prayer in full, because continuity is absent in this case and the interval is long. Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, has made it obligatory to wash all the limbs of the ablution, so whoever leaves a part, even a small one, of the limbs of the ablution, it is as if he left the washing of it entirely. Evidence for this is what was narrated by 'Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:Sunan Ibn Majah 666Sahih (Darussalam) It was narrated by Ibn Majah in his (Sunan), and Imam Ahmad and Abu Dawud narrated something similar.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
