The Multiplicity of Correctness in a Single Matter

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 19623 )
Q1: Is it possible for correctness to be multiple in a single matter?
A1: If the scholars of the Shari'ah differ on a certain issue, then correctness is not multiple; rather, it lies in one of the opinions. This is because the religion of Allah is one, and it is what He revealed in His Book and sent His Messenger Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) with. Whoever agrees with it after exerting his utmost effort and capacity is the one who is correct, and he has two rewards. And whoever errs has one reward for his independent legal reasoning, not for his error. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
