The third question of Fatwa No. ( 19378 )
Q 3: Some people deny some of the authentic, established hadiths , and they claim that there are weak hadiths—nay, denounced and invalid ones—in (Sahih al-Bukhari ). For example, they mention the hadith of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding a fly falling into a drink. They call the narrator of the hadith a liar, and say: Is he one of the poor who go from person to person asking for a bite to eat?
A 3: First: It is not permissible for a Muslim to deny the authentic, established hadiths known to the scholars of hadith; because believing in them is part of the religion. Second: (Sahih al-Bukhari ) is the most authentic of the books compiled on the hadiths of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and this is with regard to the connected, supported hadiths; as for the disconnected ones, they contain both authentic and weak hadiths. Third: The hadith of Abu Hurayrah regarding a fly falling into a drink is a hadith
that is authentic, with no defect in it in any way, and if that is established, it is obligatory for the believer to believe it. Reality has also testified to its truth, so there is no room for denying it. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
