Fatwa number ( 17327 )
Q: Is this hadith authentic from the Prophet: from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), who said:
If anyone recites the Throne verse (Al-Qur’an; 2:255) at the end of every prayer, nothing but death will prevent him from entering paradiseمن قرأ آية الكرسي عقب كل صلاة، لم يمنعه من دخول الجنة إلا أن يموت
Mishkat al-Masabih 974
?

A: al-Nasa'i and Ibn Hibban narrated from Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Whoever recites Ayat al-Kursi at the end of every obligatory prayer, nothing but death will prevent him from entering Paradise.من قرأ آية الكرسي دبر كل صلاة مكتوبة، لم يمنعه من دخول الجنة إلا أن يموت
Bulugh al-Maram 2:220
and it is unique to Muhammad ibn Hamid . The hadith has various chains that support one another, which indicates that the hadith has a basis. Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) said: It is narrated through several chains, all of which are weak, but when they are combined with one another, despite the difference in their chains and the variation
in their transmitters, it indicates that it has a basis. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
