One who prays without performing ghusl after a wet dream, being ignorant

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fourth question of the fatwa numbered ( 17900 )
Q 4: A person reached puberty—fifteen years old—and did not perform ghusl after a wet dream; because he learned during his studies that intercourse necessitates ghusl, and he did not know that a wet dream does so as well until he reached the age of twenty. The question is: what is his position regarding the prayers he performed without ghusl during those five years?
Vol. 4: It is obligatory to perform the full ritual bath (ghusl) after a wet dream; because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said regarding a woman who sees in her dream what a man sees: "She must perform the full ritual bath." This is agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim. This hadith indicates that it is obligatory for both men and women to perform the full ritual bath after a wet dream if the fluid, which is semen, is emitted from them; because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said in a narration by al-Bukhari of this hadith:
if she sees the fluidإذا رأت الماء
meaning: she saw the semen after waking up. And because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Water is from waterالماء من الماء
If a person who has had a wet dream prays without performing the full ritual bath, he must repeat the prayer; because he prayed without being in a state of ritual purity. However, this questioner
has no obligation to make up the missed prayers due to his ignorance and the length of the period. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
