Q 5: Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: .
A 5: This hadith was narrated by 'Abd al-Razzaq al-San'ani in his (Musannaf). What it indicates regarding the permissibility of praying in leather slippers, provided they are pure, is established in many hadiths. However, since mosques are now generally carpeted with luxurious rugs, it is recommended for one who enters the mosque to remove his slippers; out of regard for the cleanliness of the rugs, and to prevent harming the worshippers with any impurities that may be on the soles of the shoes, even if they are pure. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
