Q 4: Is it permissible for a young girl of seven years old, before reaching puberty, to pray in short clothing and without a head covering?
A 4: A boy and a girl of seven years old are ordered to pray so that they become accustomed to it, and their voluntary prayers are valid. A young girl prays in clothing suitable for her, but it should not be short; rather, it should be loose so that she becomes accustomed to it, and because she is a place of gaze and temptation. As for the head covering, it is not obligatory for her; due to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):Sunan Ibn Majah 655Sahih (Darussalam) And the intended meaning of "menstruating woman" is: the adult woman. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
