Changing the Intention During Prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 20872 )
Q 2: A man is in the middle of praying one of the obligatory prayers when he remembers that he prayed the previous obligatory prayer without being in a state of ritual purity . Is it permissible for him to change his intention, or what should he do?
A 2: If a person remembers during his prayer that he prayed the previous prayer without being in a state of ritual purity from a state of minor or major ritual impurity, he must exit the prayer he is
currently performing, and pray the first prayer, then pray the second; because the order between prayers is obligatory, and it is not permissible for him to change his intention from one obligatory prayer to another during the prayer. However, if he completes it as a voluntary prayer, there is no harm, then he prays the two prayers in their proper order. But if the time for the current prayer becomes narrow, he prioritizes it. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
