Praying before the time with the imam with the intention of a sunnah
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 17879 )
Q 2: If the prayer is performed before its time, is it permissible to pray behind the imam with the intention of the Fajr sunnah ?
A 2: If you know that the prayer is being established before its time, you are obligated to point out the imam’s error to him, rather than remaining silent and praying behind him as a voluntary prayer. It is obligatory to alert him. If he becomes aware, praise be to Allah. If he persists in his action, you are obligated to report this to his authority, and by doing so, your responsibility is discharged. It is not permissible for you to pray with him if you know that he is praying before the time has entered, because praying with him constitutes approval of his error and a cause for people to believe that his action is valid. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
