Q 4: There are some people who delay the prayer from its time such as
the midday prayer. They say: Those who pray with the imam in the mosque pray early, and it is better to delay the time for the midday prayer and then pray alone. Is this prayer of his valid, O honorable Shaykh? Also, there are those who delay the night prayer from its time, claiming that the preferred time is the end of the night, and then they pray alone. Is this prayer of his also valid? Please issue a ruling for us, may you be rewarded, may Allah reward you with good.
A 4: It is not permissible for a Muslim to leave the prayer with the congregation and pray alone; because the congregational prayer is obligatory, due to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):Sahih Ibn Hibban 10:352 , and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to burn the houses of those who lag behind in the congregational prayer. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
