Holding the left hand with the right hand in prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 16099 )
Q 1: I see some people placing their right hand on the front of their left hand in prayer. Why is this done, and what is the evidence for it?
A 1: Holding the left hand with the right hand and placing them on the chest while standing in prayer is a confirmed Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), as in the hadith
Wa’il b. Hujr said that he saw the Prophet raise his hands when he began prayer. He said the takbir , then pulled his garment round him, then placed his right hand on his left.وائل بن حجر قال إنه رأى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم رفع يديه حين دخل في الصلاة وكبر، ثم التحف بثوبه، ثم وضع اليمنى على اليسرى
Mishkat al-Masabih 797
This hadith was narrated by al-Nasa'i and Ibn Hibban and Ibn Khuzaymah, and it has a good corroborating narration from the hadith of Qabisah ibn Hulb al-Tai from his father, narrated by Imam Ahmad in his Musnad. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
