The Sharai' District
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 19307 )
Q 2: The Sharai' District in Makkah al-Mukarramah is said to be outside the boundaries of the Sacred Precinct by several meters—may Allah know best—despite the fact that its residents work in Makkah and purchase their goods from Makkah . Is their prayer considered the same as the prayer of those who are within the boundaries of the Sacred Precinct?
A 2: The Sharai' District is divided into two sections: a section within the boundaries of the Sacred Precinct, marked by signs that clarify those boundaries. The other section is outside the boundaries of the Sacred Precinct. What is within the Sacred Precinct has the rulings of the Sacred Precinct, such as the multiplication of the reward for prayer and the like. What is outside the Sacred Precinct has the rulings of the open area, such as the permissibility for the people of Makkah to enter the state of ihram for 'Umrah from there and the like. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
