Hanging pictures in the mosque

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa No. ( 17453 )
Q 3: Is it permissible to hang magazines containing pictures of some prominent figures in Islam in the mosque , and what should we do with the one who does this?
A 3: It is not permissible to hang pictures, neither in mosques nor elsewhere, and hanging them in mosques is more strictly forbidden; because this is one of the means of shirk (associating partners with Allah), and whoever does this must be advised and the act must be denounced against him until he removes them. It is authentically reported from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:
Angels do not enter a house in which there is a picture.لا تدخل الملائكة بيتًا فيه صورة
Sahih Muslim 2106e
, and it is authentically reported from him (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said to 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him):
Spare no portrait unwiped outلا تدع صورة إلا طمستها
Riyad as-Salihin 1687
And the hadiths in this chapter are numerous. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
