Q: This paper contains a hadith regarding the virtue of the ten days, and its text is: It is narrated fromIbn Abbasfrom the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: "The day on which Allah forgave Adam (peace be upon him), the first day of Dhul-Hijjah, whoever fasts on that day, Allah will forgive him all his sins. The second day is the day on which Allah responded to the supplication of Yunus (peace be upon him) and brought him out from the belly of the whale; whoever fasts on that day is like one who worshipped Allah the Exalted for a year without disobeying Him in his worship for the blink of an eye. The third day is the day on which Allah responded to the supplication of Zakariyya (peace be upon him); whoever fasts on that day, Allah will respond to his supplication. The fourth day is the day on which Isa (peace be upon him) was born; whoever fasts on that day, [Allah will] repel
hardship and poverty, and he will be on the Day of Resurrection with the righteous, noble people. The fifth day is the day on which Musa (peace be upon him) was born. Whoever fasts on that day will be free from hypocrisy and safe from the punishment of the grave. The sixth day is the day on which Allah the Exalted opened the good for His Prophet. Whoever fasts on it, Allah will look at him with His mercy, and he will not be punished thereafter forever. The seventh day is the day on which the gates of Hell are closed and not opened until the ten days have passed. Whoever fasts on it, Allah will close for him thirty gates of hardship and open for him thirty gates of ease. The eighth day is the day called the Day of Tarwiyah. Whoever fasts on it will be given a reward that none knows except Allah the Exalted. The ninth day is the Day of Arafah. Whoever fasts on it, it is an expiation for a past year and a future year. It is the day on which this was revealed:
This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion.
[Al-Ma'idah 5:3]
. The tenth day is the Day of Sacrifice. Whoever offers a sacrifice on it, with the first drop of its blood that falls, Allah will forgive his sins and the sins of his family. And whoever feeds a believer on it or gives charity on it, Allah the Exalted will raise him on the Day of Resurrection in safety, and his scale will be heavier than Mount Uhud.

A: We do not know any basis for this hadith. The virtue of doing good deeds in the ten days of Dhu al-Hijjah is established in authentic hadiths,
Similar to the hadith of Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
There is no virtue more to the liking of Allah in any day than in these days, that is, the first ten days of Dhu al-Hijjah. They (the Companions) asked: Messenger of Allah, not even the struggle in the path of Allah (Jihad) ? He said: (Yes), not even the struggle in the path of Allah, except a man who goes out (in the path of Allah) with his life and property, and does not return with any of them.
Sunan Abi Dawud 2438Sahih (Al-Albani)
Al-Majd said in (Al-Muntaqa): It was narrated by the group except Muslim and al-Nasa'i . And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
