Q: I hope you will express and clarify your opinion regarding what I will mention shortly, and whether it is permissible to read it and keep it: Here are excerpts from this book: (The purpose of this book is to mention the sending of blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and its virtues, which we mention without chains of narration to make them easier for the reader to memorize, and they are among the most important matters for one who desires closeness to the Lord of Lords, and I named it the Book of (Dalail al-Khayrat and Shuwarq al-Anwar in Mentioning the Sending of Blessings upon the Chosen Prophet). (... And it was narrated from him (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: People will come to the Pond on the Day of Resurrection whom I will not recognize except by their abundance of sending blessings upon me... ). And these are copies from a page of its pages: (In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy: My Lord, by the status of Your Prophet, our master Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), with You, and his position with You, and Your love for him and his love for You, and by the secret between You and him... etc.). (... And send blessings upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, whose light is from the light of lights, and whose rays illuminate the secrets... ).
A: The book you mentioned, which is the Book of (Dalail al-Khayrat),
is known among the precise scholars to be a book of misguidance; because of what it contains of exaggeration regarding the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), asking by his status, and that his light is from the light of lights and his rays illuminate the secret of secrets. As the questioner quoted, and as is found in the book of prayers and exaggerations for which there is no evidence. Therefore, one should not be deceived by this book, and it is not permissible to read it except for one who intends to refute it and warn against it. And there are correct books on sending blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that suffice for this book and its like, such as the book: (Jala' al-Afham fi al-Salah wa al-Salam 'ala Khayr al-Anam) by the scholar Ibn al-Qayyim . And success is from Allah, and may Allah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.
