Fatwa No. ( 14919 )
Q: The imams Ahmad, al-Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawud, and al-Nasa'i narrated from A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Choose such actions as you are capable of performing, for Allah does not grow weary till you do. The acts most pleasing to Allah are those which are done most continuously, even if they amount to little.اكلفوا من العمل ما تطيقون، فإن الله لا يمل حتى تملوا، وإن أحب العمل إلى الله تعالى أدومه وإن قل
Sunan Abi Dawud 1368Sahih (Al-Albani)
. What is the answer to his statement (peace and blessings be upon him):
for Allah does not get tired (of giving reward) but you get tired.فإن الله لا يمل حتى تملوا
Sunan Ibn Majah 4241Hasan (Darussalam)
Is it to be taken as it came, or does it have an interpretation?
Knowing that I have looked into the words of the imams and preservers of hadith, such as Ibn Hajar in (Fath al-Bari 1/101) and (3/36), and they did not comment on his words with anything, so is he in agreement with him or not? And likewise al-Hafith al-Khattabi in (Ma'alim al-Sunan), and al-Nawawi in (his commentary on Muslim ), and Ibn Qutaybah in (Ta'wil Mukhtalif al-Hadith) and others, and since I am working on editing one of the treatises, and the phrase of the author (for Allah does not get tired until the servant gets tired, and Allah does not get tired ever) appears in it, I ask for an answer to my question?

A: It is obligatory to pass on this hadith as it came, with belief in the attribute, and that it is true in the manner befitting Allah, without likening Him to His creation or asking how; like the cunning, deception, and plotting mentioned in the Book of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), all of which are true attributes befitting Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He), in accordance with His saying (the Exalted):
There is nothing like unto Him, and He is the Hearing, the Seeing.لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهِ شَيْءٌ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْبَصِيرُ
[Ash-Shuraa 42:11]
. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
