The second question of Fatwa No. ( 17648 )
Q 2: The Imam al-Nisaburi reported from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the names of the People of the Cave are suitable for medicine, fleeing, and extinguishing fire; they are written on a piece of cloth and thrown into the fire, or placed under the head of a crying child in his cradle... and so on. Their names are Yamlakha, Saktalyna, Muthalyna, Martush, and Bartush, Shadhunush, Kafshatayus, and Qatamir. Is this authentic, and is it permissible to carry the names of the People of the Cave? From Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), she said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (Whoever writes these five verses on Friday, which contain fifty qafs, and drinks them, a thousand healings and medicines, a thousand mercies, a thousand compassion, a thousand certainty, a thousand strength, and a hundred thousand light will be placed in his body, and every disease, anger, sadness, and worry will be removed from him). And from Salman al-Farisi (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: He said: O Messenger of Allah, since my youth I have committed disobedience, and in the last part of my life, teach me something to recite so that my life is prolonged, my sins are forgiven, and my desire is fulfilled. So he (peace and blessings be upon him) taught him these five verses and said: (Whoever recites these five verses
and carries them, his life will be prolonged, his sin forgiven, and his desire fulfilled. They are four consecutive verses from Surat al-Baqarah, the end of Surat al-Ma'idah, and a verse in Surat ar-Ra'd). Is it permissible to write the Qur'an in separated letters and place it with the epileptic , provided that it is written with pure materials so that he is healed by the permission of Allah? Allah has given me a gift from Him, which is that I sit next to the sorcerer and place my right hand on his head and recite the noble Ruqyah verses, then this sorcerer looks in front of him and sees the sorcery inside him on the wall, as if he is sitting in front of a television screen. This has happened more than three times. Is there any harm in that? Knowing that I write the Name of Glory (Allah) on a plate with saffron and erase it with water and give it to the sorcerer to drink, and another one I pour on his head. Is there any harm in that? I read a letter written by our master Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), dictated by the Master of Mankind (peace and blessings be upon him), and he gave it to Abu Dujana to place in his home when he complained to him that his house had visitors and inhabitants. Is it permissible for us to write that letter with the same text, following the example of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and place it in the house that has inhabitants and visitors who are not righteous?
A: What you mentioned in these questions has no basis, and it is from
the deeds of the ignorant, so you must stay away from it and warn against it, and you must return to the authentic books of the Sunnah, such as (the two Sahihs) and (the four Sunans) and others, and books of creed, such as: the books of the Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah , the books of the Imam Ibn al-Qayyim , and the books of the Shaykh al-Islam, the renewer, the Shaykh Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Wahhab , perhaps Allah will benefit you with them. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his companions.
