Placing a stick in the mouth of young sheep to prevent them from nursing

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 12802 )
Q: We live in the desert with flocks of sheep, both sheep and goats. However, as is well known among the Bedouin, goats are known for causing harm, and the young goats harm their mothers by nursing from them constantly. Out of concern for the milk on one hand, and for the weakness of the mother on the other, we place a stick in the mouth of the young one, such that it extends out of the right and left sides of its mouth, and it is tied to the head with a strap. This causes the young one great harm, as it is unable to nurse from its mother and unable to drink water, which sometimes leads to its death, or causes it severe damage in its mouth. Please inform us: does any sin attach to us for this? Knowing that we disliked this custom and no longer practice it at present.
A: It is not permissible to place the aforementioned stick in the mouth of young sheep, and you can separate the young ones from their mothers.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
